Bernie Laherty-Guégan is an Irish born visual artist and educator currently living and working in France . Her work spans the disciplines of painting, drawing, installation and photography.
Bernie studied Fine Arts in Dublin, graduating with honours in 1998. Since the, she has participated in residencies and exhibitions in a variety of contexts.
A consistent theme in her work is a concern with the impact of the physical state on the emotional and spiritual state and vice versa.
Her current work explores ideas of oppression, control and the finding or losing of oneself in a certain space . using images of the body, sourced from her observation, photograhs and anatomical dictionaries. It is available to buy at :
